Fluent for Mac · Beta

Installing the beta.

Fluent for Mac is a free beta for any Mac — Apple Silicon or Intel — on macOS 13 or newer. One universal download runs natively on both. Everything runs on your machine; your voice never leaves it.

  1. Download the installer and drag Fluent into Applications.
  2. Important — first open: right-click (or Control-click) Fluent in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. Double-clicking will not work the first time. macOS shows an "unidentified developer" notice because this beta isn't notarised with Apple yet; you only do this once.
  3. Grant the permissions Fluent asks for — Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring. They're what let it hear you and type for you.
  4. On first launch Fluent downloads its on-device voice model (~470 MB, one time). The app window shows progress.
  5. Click into any text field, hold Right ⌥ Option, speak, release. Done.
